Based in the Lake District but working nationally, CBA Events is an established full service Event Management Company who look after an expanding portfolio of clients. Our company’s roots lie firmly in venue finding, event management, conference planning, AV, and teambuilding and we deliver consistently high levels of creativity, client care and attention to detail. It’s an exciting time and due to continued growth we are in a position to expand the team and the following new roles are available.
Job opportunity 1 – Venue Finding Manager
The successful applicant will head up the Venue Finding department, managing a team of venue finders, ensuring the smooth running and continued high standard of service whilst supporting the senior team with business development.
Responsibilities of the role:
The role is suited to someone with experience in hotel or venue sales management or a senior administration / business development role. Operational experience an advantage but not essential.
- Manage the venue finding team, supporting with enquiries, proposals and confirmations
- Ensure the team are motivated and continue to provide an exceedingly high standard of service
- Manage client site visits and attend where applicable
- Maintain existing client relationships and manage new ones
- Manage client records on our CRM system
- Utilise our CRM system for business development working closely with the senior management team
- Identify new business opportunities
- Identify and execute opportunities to upsell
- Liaise and meet with existing and prospective clients
- Attend industry events and exhibitions
- Keep up to date with venue and hotel industry news, new openings etc. and support the team with weekly updates
- Manage venue / hotel / supplier relationships
Applicants should have the following knowledge and experience;
- Proven track record of successfully managing a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and prioritise
- Proven success of client management and customer service
- Excellent communication and administrative skills
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience of working with clients in a B2B environment
- Excellent Microsoft Office knowledge
Employment terms:
Starting salary: Negotiable depending on experience. This full time permanent position is based from the Keswick office with some UK travel involved. Job opportunity 2 – Events Manager
The successful applicant will head up the Conference AV and Exhibition department, and will be the first point of contact for current and potential clients. Their role will vary from event manager, to events assistant, to general crew depending on the specific requirements.
Responsibilities of the role:
The successful applicant will have project management experience; ideally within the audio visual, conference and exhibition market, but this is not essential. The successful applicant will ideally have the skills to manage the following elements;
- Dealing with client enquiries in a timely fashion with excellent administration and communication skills
- Site visits to assess suitability of the venue or location and to sell potential set ups to clients
- Preparing proposals including event mock ups and scale floor plans
- A background knowledge or interest in setting up sound, lights and video
- Management of existing client relationships, and development of the client portfolio
- Financial management of projects including costing proposals, working within budgets and profit projections
- Reporting to directors on projects, opportunities, and marketing
- Logistics management including equipment, vehicles, crew and accommodation
- Sub-contractor management
- Health and safety management
- Equipment preparation and loading, rigging & setting up events
- De-rigging events & loading, post event equipment maintenance
- Driving a variety of vehicles
Training will be provided once in the employment of CBA Events and so the right attitude, approach and ambition is prioritised equally to having the full skillset as detailed above.

Job opportunity 3 – Events Assistant
This is a new role within our expanding business, assisting the Operations & Events Department. The successful applicant will be keen to develop their career within the events industry. Training will be provided to gain qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Outdoor activity preparation and delivery
- Equipment preparation and loading, rigging & setting up events
- De-rigging events & loading, post event equipment maintenance
- Sales support, administration and procurement
- Team building activities and challenges
- Driving vehicles in the CBA Events fleet
The successful applicant will be confident, enthusiastic, willing to learn and work long hours, sociable, passionate, and have the ability to use own initiative.
Relevant experience or qualifications an advantage, however training will be provided, so the right attitude, approach and ambition is prioritised equally to having the full skillset as detailed above.
